Dungeon Scoundrel

What is this game?
-----------------------
Dungeon Scoundrel is a single-player dungeon crawler rogue-like card game, loosely based on a game called Scoundrel.

This game is an experiment to see whether this kind of concept and setting could become a fun, full-sized roguelike game. Currently, the gameplay is quite bare-bones. 

The game could be expanded in many directions based on feedback and interest in future development. Your feedback is welcome!

How to play?
----------------

Deck contains 44 cards: 
- 26 monster cards (red) valued from 2 to 14, two of each value.
- 9 weapon cards (blue) valued from 2 to 10, one of each value.
- 9 health cards (yellow) valued from 2 to 10, one of each value.

Health points
You start with 20 health points. You CANT have more than 20 health. If your health points reach 0, you lose the game.

Gameplay
On every turn you are dealt cards face up (there will always be four cards in total). This is called a room. You HAVE TO have one card remaining on the room to be able to enter a new room. The remaining card becomes part of the new room as well.

Escape
Before you interact with the room, you have the option to escape. In this case, the room’s cards go to the bottom of the deck, and a new room is dealt. You CANT escape two rooms in a row.

Goal
The goal is to clear the entire deck and the remaining cards of the last room. In other words, clear the dungeon.

Weapon cards
If you pick a weapon card (left mouse button), you will equip it and unequip the previous weapon (if you have one). Your weapon strength is equal to the weapon card’s value.

Combat
If you pick a monster card (left mouse button), you will attack the enemy with your weapon (if you have one). 

- If you DONT have any enemy cards attached to your weapon and the enemy has a higher value than your weapon, you will take damage (damage = enemy value - weapon value). Your weapon value now becomes the value of that enemy. 

-If you DO have enemy cards attached to your weapon, you can only attack enemies that have a lower value than your weapon.

Bare-handed attack
If you pick a monster card (right mouse button), you will attack the enemy bare-handed. You will kill the enemy, but you will take damage equal to the enemy’s value.

Health cards
If you pick a health card (left mouse button), its value is added to your total health. You CANT have more than 20 health.

Discard 
If you pick a healt card (right mouse button), you will discard it. Weapon cards CANT be discarded.

My personal journey
--------------------------
This project is a continuation of my journey to learn more about Godot and game development as a whole. Once again, I wanted to try something new, and I thought this could be a fun little project. It's always exciting to bring an idea to life.

With this one, I also wanted to focus more on visual appeal, since that's never really been my strong suit. I hope you enjoy the game!

game gets stuck on "not strop enough for that enemy" and escape does nothing
